Richard Jackson has worked with many composers, choirs and orchestras as a typesetter. For composers this involves taking their scores and using Sibelius to create perfectly legible, easily replicable scores for use. For other ensembles the main focus is elegance, such that the performance score is made to be as accessible and legible as possible. This allows the focus of the ensemble to be on playing rather then deciphering.
Previous jobs involve making scores which are transposed into different keys, changing the basic layout to increase legibility, changing the time signature for ease of use (specifically in Renaissance/Baroque music), and making orchestral parts for performances. Richard has previously worked for many London-based ensembles (such as the Amici Chamber Choir), Cardiff University and most recently was a copyist for the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2009 competition.
