It's my pleasure to announce that after the success of the Keynsham Music Festival performance of Robin Grant & Neil Beddow's "A Bridge Across The Flood", we've been asked to have a repeat performance!
"A Bridge Across The Flood" is both a song-cycle and a musical ethnography, based around real-life accounts and testimonials of those who experienced the Great Flood of 1968. With a text encapsulating life in Keynsham at the time and depicting the real horrors and hardships endured by all involved, this piece is a fascinating monument to a defining moment in the town's history.
The performance will be taking place on October 6th at St Andrew's Church, Chew Magna. The piece itself will be preceeded by a new film depicting the various events which have taken place as part of the 50th anniversary commemorations, featuring previously unseen footage from the event.
